Is Hypnotherapy Right for You?

Updated: Jan 31, 2023

Should Hypnotherapy be a part of your health journey? Yes, it should! Hypnotherapy can help with many things. It is not an instant fix but another tool in your health toolbox.

Hypnotherapy works by putting you into a relaxed state and using positive suggestions to help to change behavior. When you are relaxed, your subconscious mind can more readily process suggestions. You may be wondering if you are able to relax enough to be hypnotized. Well, it turns out almost everyone can be hypnotized. We naturally go into a hypnotic state every day, We are in a hypnotic state when we daydream, when we are lost in a good book. When you are enjoying a favorite activity, and all of a sudden you realize an hour or more has passed, and it seems like a few minutes, this is a hypnotic state. That peaceful state just before falling asleep, that too is a hypnotic state. If you have experienced any of these examples, you can be hypnotized.

Now that we know you can be hypnotized, let's talk about how Hypnotherapy can help you. Hypnotherapy can be used as an aid in weight loss and smoking cessation. It can be used to help alleviate fears and phobias, like a fear of spiders, or public speaking. It can help you to manage stress and get a better night's sleep. Hypnotherapy can be used for Past-life Regressions. It can be used to stop bad habits or start good habits.

A hypnotherapist uses a "script". This is similar to a guided meditation. The first part of the script is called a relaxer, and does just that. the second part is called a deepener and relaxes you even further into the hypnotic state. the body of the script address the issue you need help with. You are then gently brought out of the hypnotic state and you are "awake". You will remember the whole experience, you are aware during the session and can stop it at any time if you are uncomfortable for any reason. You will feel relaxed and rested after the session.

Depending on the nature of the issue you have, you may need more than one session. You can discuss this with your hypnotherapist. If you have any questions or want to know if hypnotherapy is right for you, contact me or schedule a free discovery call.
